In short: Rise & Set does not collect, store, share or sell any personal data. Everything the app works out happens on your iPhone.
Who we are
Rise & Set is developed by John Sibly. This policy explains how the app handles information about you.
Information the app does not collect
The app has no accounts, sign-in, analytics, advertising, tracking or crash reporting. It does not send any information to the developer or to any server run by the developer, and it does not use your data to track you across other apps or websites.
Your location
If you allow it, the app reads your current location so it can show sunrise, sunset, twilight and moon times where you are, and centre the map on you.
- Your location is used only on your device to calculate those times and work out your time zone. It is never sent to the developer.
- The app only asks for your location while you are using it, never in the background.
- You can still use the app without sharing your location, by choosing a place on the map.
- You can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Rise & Set.
Information stored on your device
The app remembers the last place you chose so it opens there next time. It is kept on your iPhone (and in your own device backups, if you use them), is never sent to the developer, and is deleted when you delete the app.
Maps
The map is provided by Apple Maps. To show the map, your iPhone requests map images for the area you are viewing directly from Apple. Apple handles that information under its own privacy policy. The developer does not receive it.
Children
The app does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If the way the app handles data ever changes, this page will be updated and the effective date above will change.
